  • 1 cup (240ml) Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (100g) Granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups Strong brewed espresso (cooled)
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) Coffee liqueur (optional, like Kahlúa)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting
  • Dark chocolate (for shavings, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whip the chilled heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  2. In another bowl, gently fold together the mascarpone, sugar, and vanilla extract. Carefully fold in the whipped cream until smooth and creamy.
  3. Mix the brewed espresso with the coffee liqueur in a shallow dish.
  4. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture and arrange a layer at the bottom of your dish or cake pan.
  5. Spread a generous layer of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers. Repeat the process, finishing with a layer of mascarpone cream on top.
  6. Dust the top generously with unsweetened cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings if desired.
  7. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight before serving.
